Within the framework of Benha University 's "BU" policy to open up to the world and build strong partnerships with international universities, a webinar has been held with the University of Canterbury under the auspices of Dr. Gamal El Saeed, BU President. BU has been represented in this webinar by Dr. Hussien Almaghrabi, the University Vice-president for Education and Students` Affairs; Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Youssef, the Director of the University International Students Unit. In the same context, the University of Canterbury has been represented by Dr. Susan Plummer and Dr. Ranjeet Utikar
Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches' Affairs said that the Institutional Marketing Office at the Sector of Post Graduate Studies has issued a booklet in English about BU World Rankings under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, the University President.
He added that booklet is a part from a series of books that aim to market the university and highlight its position at the local, regional and international levels.
In this regard, El Saeed praised the efforts made to produce the booklet in a proper way that reflects the place of BU at the local, regional and international levels.

During the meeting of Benha University Council; Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, the University President reviewed the visit of a delegation from the Electronic and Knowledge Service Center, Supreme Council of Universities "SCU" within the frame of activating the cooperation protocol between SCU and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency " ITIDA", Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to evaluate the capabilities of public universities for digital transformation to smart universities pointing out that BU is one of the first universities have been visited and evaluated.
It is worth mentioning that the Council has been held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hussien Almaghrabi, the University Vice-president for Education and Students` Affairs; Prof. Dr. Randa Mustafa, the University Vice-president for Community Service and Environment Development Affairs; Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches' Affairs; Deans, and the Council Members.
The Faculty and Leadership Development Center "FLDC" at Benha University has held a workshop for faculty members about the scientific research outputs marketing withing the training programs provided by the Center during current August. Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the workshop discussed the scientific research outputs marketing and the role of technology valleys, technological incubators and the startup companies in achieving the knowledge economy by converting creative ideas into wealth in the light of the incentives law for science, technology and innovation.
Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches' Affairs said that a research team from Benha University "BU" and other researchers from China, India, and Sudan published in the Journal of Food Biochemistry a study about Tannins inhibit SARS‐CoV‐2 through binding with catalytic dyad residues of 3CLpro: An in silico approach with 19 structural different hydrolysable tannins.
Dr. Ibrahim Khalifa, the lecturer at the food industry department, faculty of agriculture and the head of BU research team said that the corona epidemic resulting from infection with novel coronavirus "covid19", has raised the concerns of the World Health Organization as well as all over the world.

Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the University Council under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, the University President approved the memorandum of understanding with Varna University of Management in the light of BU 's plan to open up to the world and in line with the State 's plan and the Ministry of Higher Education in this regard. Major General Abdel Hamid El Hagan, Qalyoubia Governor and Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President has opened today a number of new projects and facilities. They also have inspected and laid the foundation stone of other projects, in addition to the construction of the new specialized hospital within BU participation in the Governorate's national day and its celebration for the 15th anniversary of its establishment.
In this regard, El Hagan said that the relationship between the Governorate and the University is close, and the University is its home of expertise, pointing out that the Governorate is ready to provide all support to BU in order to present its scientific and service message to the people of Qalyoubia Governorate.
He also praised the size of the projects that are being built on the BU's land to serve the people of the Governorate, confirming that the University has expertise and a strong infrastructure that would develop the educational, research and community service process.
In the same context, El Saeed expressed for his happiness and the family of BU in participating the people of Qalyoubia in their celebrations of the Governorate's national day.
He also congratulated Qalyoubia Governor, and the people of the Governorate on the occasion of celebrating the 152nd National Day, confirming that BU with all its capabilities, scholars, experts and researchers, is at the service of Qalyoubia Governorate.
Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President said that the Times Higher Education World University Rankings has announced for the new ranking of 2021 indicating that the University has occupied the rank 801 – 1000 among 527 universities in the world and 21 universities in Egypt at 4th group. Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that according to that ranking, the University has maintained its world place occupied in 2020 with improvement in its performance at the citation and teaching, as well as the international outlook comparing with the previous year.
